Artistry Reigns in Publishing
Every creation is a piece of art. With books, it is an artistic expression of passion and legacy for the author, as well as the publisher.
The Artistic Pairing of Imagery and Words
The artistic pairing of imagery and words is an art form, no matter what the genre. However, in the case of coffee table or oversized books,, it’s imperative that the creative team value and implement the curation in the highest quality while honoring the artistic legacy and nuances of the author-artist’s process.
Featured Author-Ron Glodich
Silverlight Press is honored to feature author, Ron Glodich and his memoir, A Run to the River, particularly, on National Student Athletes’ Day. Ron’s stories have regaled us for months as we’ve watched him upload his drafts and manuscript. The entire team has been abuzz with each chapter. Although we are coaching and collaborating with Ron as to his authorship, book, and literary career, his infectious positivity makes us all feel like we are heading into the Super Bowl together…and in a way, we are!
Revenue Streams in Publishing-It’s More than Selling Books
The best plan for a successfully published book doesn’t involve only one outlet for a book’s sales. Rather, it is the strategic and expertly designed plan involving multiple revenue streams that ensures a viable and sustainable author’s career.

Screenwriter to Author
Business savvy screenwriters are turning their scripts into books. Monetization, audience engagement, industry recognition, and increased visibility for their writing are only a few of the benefits of authorship.
Pen, Lens, or Both? Book to Film Adaptations
Books and films, when successfully launched, can dramatically augment the viability and followings of each. Having both can be a rewarding and lucrative marketing strategy. However, the various screenwriting, business, legal, financial, industry, and creative considerations are added layers of analysis and planning that warrant attention early on in the publishing process.

Write for High Performance Success
Many of our authors are already high performing successful individuals in other fields. They desire the information and expertise that will create the same type of notoriety, financial rewards, career advancement, and accolades they’ve experienced in their primary or prior occupation.
Never Forget
Write it in your heart. Never Forget. September 11, 2001.
Story has changed the world and will continue to do so.
Practice, Practice, Practice: The Importance of Daily Writing
Writing every day is beneficial for all of us! Greats, like author Stephen King, have commented on their daily practice of writing. As a project manager for Silverlight Press and Silverlight Films, I’m learning new writing and storytelling skills every day. I’m also traveling the journey as an author on a personal book project that I’m writing. The realization of practice has been highlighted repeatedly and I have seen firsthand the value of daily writing. It’s really similar to the athletes I’ve met in the publishing and film projects. They continue to practice, train and work with skilled coaches even as pros'.
When Should I Start Talking About My Book?
Writing a book is a very exciting and newsworthy event in your life. The process for writing it is something that takes time to iron out the major themes, intended audience, title, and others. The question becomes at what point in the writing process should you start to promote your book? Depending on your connections and network, you’ll likely want to get the word out sooner rather than later. Is there a danger to talking about it too soon? Wouldn’t it be ideal to start building your book’s buzz earlier rather than later?
Do Avid Readers Make Better Writers?
Aspiring and even established authors read a lot. Reading has so many benefits in your development as a writer.
Is a Picture Worth A Thousand Words?
Dig around in those dusty boxes; open the trunks from your grandparents; reach in the back of closets that need to be cleaned out; peruse the stacks of scrapbooks held onto by your proud mom; or scroll through those digital photos saved on your phone.
“Three Cups of Tea” to an Invitation to Publish
Many of you will remember the best-selling book by Greg Mortenson, Three Cups of Tea. Although the book was surrounded by much controversy, its title contained the concept, outlined by an Afghan tribal chief, that basically one should have three cups or, in essence, three interactions with someone before they are accepted into a group. How does that relate to our selected authors with an invitation to publish?
Film Adaptations of Books
As with writing a book, the marketing strategy of your film adaptation starts in the development and pre-production. The audience, the budget, the story and so much more is analyzed beforehand. With an appropriate consultation, overview and research, you can be assured success vs. never having your book and/or film seen, let alone made.
At the “Back of the Theater” with Advanced Copy Readers
As a film director and producer, the coveted seats in a theater for film premieres are direct center and three seats to the right and left of that with a 360 degree view. However, when I desire real feedback before an official release, I want to be in the back of the theater without my presence being known. I love hearing the feedback, watching the audiences’ reactions and listening to the comments as the attendees leave the theater.
Equally, an author needs similar “audience” review for his or her book through the strategically selected and best suited Advance Copy Readers.
Is Your Writing an Extension of You?
How do you ensure that your book is an extension of you rather than an addition to you? In other words - many times writers go through the trouble of writing, editing and publishing a book only to end up with something that isn’t really them.
Preventing Pain in Publishing
You may have had pain in the writing or publishing process. You may feel disappointed or lost some of your steam. You may believe you’re “not as good” as the others. You may think you’re not a good writer. You’ve started your book several times but never finished. You’ve been taken and now you don’t feel capable of evaluating other writing or publishing resources. You may have anxiety, are a procrastinator or a perfectionist always tweaking and revising.
Do we really need to suffer for our art?
Why Aren’t Things Happening to Me? I’m a Published Author, Dammit!
A book is many things but it does not have superpowers on it’s own. It doesn’t just magically wind up in the hands of my perfect readers and hopefully future perfect clients. It doesn’t become a best-seller without people knowing it’s even for sale.
