Never Forget

Never Forget. It’s the twentieth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attack on the Twin Towers. Almost 3000 lives were lost. For those of us who were alive and old enough at the time, we certainly won’t forget. However, it’s the lost heroes’ and their families’ stories that have kept their memories, as well as one of the worst tragedies suffered by our country forefront in the hearts and minds of its citizens. Will we ever forget the “Let’s roll” by Todd Beamer? On that day, this beautiful and unassuming family man became a leader, a hero.

The power of story for history, connection, activism and legacy is like no other. The personal stories shared were cathartic, healing and inspiring. A brokenhearted nation picked up the pieces trying to resume life but knowing it was changed forever. In spite of all, the stories united our communities. In spite of politics, race, religion or gender, people joined hands in unity, love and resilience. We all have the power to make a difference through story. Don’t ever hesitate thinking your story won’t make an impact. I believe stories can change the world.

Write it in your heart today and NEVER FORGET.
